So, I figured I'd share a part of my life that I'm not proud of, though one I don't let define me either. We all have felt like a victim at one time or another, but we don't need to let it define who we are.

I mean, heck, I've gone through some of the worst things you could imagine in life and yet, I still here and still fighting. n.n If I can do it, anyone can.

As I've said before, the problem is that it's hard not to feel like a victim when other humans treat you as if you are below other humans. I honestly find it disgusting that racism and homophobia is treated properly, but discrimination and hatred towards furries is seen as a joke, even people going as far as to joking about going the furry conventions and shooting people up, or seen that furries can't be discriminated because, again, they are below other humans.

I think another problem I didn't mention on Discord, is that a lot of the problem I have is that they assume furries are the only ones that should change. That kinda seems to be a mentality in general we have. Bullies are everywhere, but no one does anything about them. People are just told to ignore them as if they will magically go away. Bullies don't have to change, but the bully victims have to work even harder to become even more miserable.

like I said, I understand your opinion and pain oh, and I really do want the best for the furry community, especially if people will take us seriously and media will become less shallow, but it's hard not to feel like a victim when older people treat you be low human beings for being a furry, and other people are telling you that those people do not have to better themselves. Only you have to change.

To be honest, I just don't feel like a victim mentality is going to be easy to get rid of if the surroundings don't change. When others do genuinely make you feel like a victim, it does become difficult. The easiest thing that furries can do, is again, take themselves out of those environments that make them feel like a victim. Find community's that don't treat furries like garbage, even if that Community is a furry community. That usually makes it easier to let go of feeling like a victim.
