my mom says that furries are pedos and they groom kids and she doesnt like them, i dont think my brothers or sister do either. What am i supposed to do? :__(

Ask them what their sources are- and that rumors, the New York post, Vanityfair, and/or that one episode of CSI aren’t credible sources

Being a furry is about as dangerous as being a fan of music, cars, fashion, or sports. Like other marginalized communities who have benefited from advocacy (e.g., LGBT), furries need evidence-based support to negate this pervasive stigma. I always say to try being informed instead of just opinionated. meh 😕 You do you and don't let others say otherwise~

Instead of fighting the “furries are good/bad” battle, I’d suggest you focus on the actual concern. If you still want to be around, be open with them about the experiences you have and listen to what they have to say. They’re concerned that you don’t get groomed or abused and that’s good! Yes, some furries are good. Some others are not, and it’s important to tell them apart before the damage is done.
