Hey! So, I've avoided getting really involved in social medias, but I'm decided to being involved here. So I'm going to be posting on a regular basis about life and what's going on.
For example, the other day me and my brother started playing with Blender. Didn't really make anything, just getting familiar with the tools, but it was fun, and I hope to learn more with him. We have completely different learning styles, but we were able to make it work rather well. He has ADHD and has to be more proactive and hands on than I, as I can read a book and imitate, then reuse what I imitated to solidify what I learned.
What we did was I had a book about Blender and I was sitting to the side reading aloud while he was at the computer playing with shapes. He would start hitting all the buttons and when I read about a function or a hotkey combination he would take a moment to try it out and get the feel for it. Ultimately I believe we both learned better, as he was able to roam free with doing whatever caught his attention while occasionally being brought back to a grounding as I covered the basics and I learned more seeing everything in action and able to have direct input as we figured out the discrepancies between Blender 2.5 and 2.8, as the book was written at the time of 2.5. Which BTW, layers aren't a thing in 2.8 anymore, it has been replaced with the collections system, which seems a lot more robust and useful.
