#dailysong
So I know I said to expect more musicals, but, yeah, we're gonna cut that off short. Why? Cause I feel like it and it's my thing. That's why. ^^
So this week, I'm actually picking from a smaller artist that I'm assuming not many know about given how he only has about 18k subscribers. (Which I know sounds like a lot, but it really isn't.) More to the point, the song is "Everyone's Here" by Il Niege. Why he named himself after the phrase "It's snowing" in French, I'll never know. But he's really good, and this song is a fun example of that. It's about an amazing game, I don't know if you've heard of it, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. I know, small-time stuff. But nevertheless, it's a really fun song. It obviously plays on the marketing phrase about how this game would have every single playable character from previous smash titles, and then goes on to take that to an extreme and poke fun at the series. With lines addressing similar characters, to multiples of the same character, to the push to buy amiibos with the game, it's a little cynical, but you can tell it comes from a place of appreciation. There is only one line that doesn't really age well where he says Banjo & Kazooie will never appear. And then a few months later they announce just that. The rest still applies well, even with the parts that talk about characters that have yet to be included. I guess he's just future-proofing or something. Anyway, without further ado, here it is! "Everyone's here! From Sub-Zero to Scorpion! To every single pokémon! Spyro and Crash, Ratchet & Clank! And fifty more versions of Link!"
