Looks like we’re sticking with heavy for a bit. #dailysong

Those who are abused often defend their abusers. It’s hard to admit when someone you care about doesn’t care about you. You hide the bruises and if you can’t hide them you make excuses. Several of my coworkers believed I got drunk often, cause the only excuse I could come up with was that I got drunk and fell. I’ve been drunk maybe 3-4 times in my life. It’s not easy to spot a lie or excuse when they happen, but if you suspect, even for a second, that it may be, don’t let it slide. If nothing else let them know you’re there for them, even if they insist nothing happens. Cause they will want to confide in someone. And they’ll need someone ready to listen. So please, be ready.

“I think your ears are playing tricks on you, sweater zipped up to her chin. Thanks for caring sir, that’s nice of you, but I have to go back in. Wish I could tell you about the noise, but I didn’t hear a thing. She said, it must have been the wind. It must have been the wind. It must have been the wind. It must have been the wind.”
