Don't judge a tornado based on the funnel alone, if the funnel is like a half a mile wide, the tornado could possibly be sneaky like a fox and be 1.4 miles wide thanks to the outer band of tornadic winds, just look at the el reno tornado, the funnel its self wasn't 2.6 miles wide, the outer band is what made it that wide
Rain wrapped tornados can be sneaky like a fox, if the tornado is hidden behind a curtain of rain, you might be driving into a tornado thinking it is heavy rain, so be weary if you want to storm chase
