I installed a modern Linux distro on a 17-year-old Dell OptiPlex 960 MT that originally shipped with Windows Vista. I was genuinely surprised with how usable it is.
I have computers a lot newer than this that Microsoft considers "obsolete" because of their arbitrary requirements for running Windows 11. This goes to show that just because Microsoft says you aren't allowed to run Windows 11 (which is more of a blessing than a curse), you absolutely should not throw out your PC.
