Me to a friend on Discord after telling them I wanted to run an engineering idea by them:
"So the idea is that we replace car wheels with magnets, and then put magnets beneath roads with the opposite polarity up so that the vehicle can be above the road, but still be able to move normally. It would also decrease gas usage and therefore carbon emissions due to the fact that the axle is not constantly turning and instead is moving to a stationary angle, occasionally rotating to change speed or stop completely.
In short, hover car but with magnets"

They just explained the magnets that propell the car ist self can shift to chage speed. The magnetic pull and push could be used to change the direction and stop the vehical.

I could also speculate it would fly similar to a helicopter. As I mean to say like balancing a ball on the end of several water streams.

I notice some flaws in the concept, there would be little to no traction with magnetic hover cars, too much weight will cause the car to not hover. If you need to get to a place fast, the magnets might make the car move at a slow speed, the magnets need to be able to carry a few tons of weight to move a a moderate rate. And last but not least, the magnets would destroy any electronic near it because it uses a super powerful magnet

It's a good idea,but I would use electrical magnets,that are able to turn of,bc If there is constantly magnetic thing on the road,the road would be covered in metal (If you get what I mean,sry im stoopid 😅)

Why not have a sort of rudimentary thrust system, that is omni-directional, so that you can control the vehicle?
