So those G-Drive SSDs I ordered came in. Apparently they're Sandisk X600s manufactured in 2017. No wonder Western Digital wanted to offload them, lmao.
I still need to get the ATC case for it. Call me weird, but having redundancy in connectors for an external drive (SATA + USB-C + USB-A (using SATA III connector) is always nice. It's also why I build my own external drives rather than buying prefabricated ones.
One of my more bothersome traits is that when I shop for stuff, I often look at points of failure and terms of recovery. I purchased some external SSDs that have both SATA and USB interfaces, though SATA is reserved for the dock and enclosure (which I might purchase, just have to avoid Thunderbolt 2 version because I don't own a Mac lol).
A reserved guy that enjoys repurposing old technology.
I'll add more here when time goes by.
