One of my more bothersome traits is that when I shop for stuff, I often look at points of failure and terms of recovery. I purchased some external SSDs that have both SATA and USB interfaces, though SATA is reserved for the dock and enclosure (which I might purchase, just have to avoid Thunderbolt 2 version because I don't own a Mac lol).
