Hey quick question...Does anyone know what the "Hugs" on the side do? I looked at it but nothings there, does anyone know the function of it, or if there isn't one yet?

As Anthony said, it's essentially just a way to send a "Hug" notification to someone else, whom may choose to send one back. It does othing more!
