It can be a tough decision. Our local fur group takes pride in being Minor Safe and we have members as young as 8 years old. We see it as protecting our pups and teaching them proper interaction in the fandom. With this in mind I am all for leaving it 13+ Our local group DOES provide alternate chats four our members that are 18+ for the NSFW side of our membership but that is mainly on our Telegram Channel.

There are lots of sites that cater to NSFW content, but very few that truly enforce the "All Ages" aspect.

I would suggest if you endup changing the age limit (to 18+), please make it so us minors can still access the site But add a age filter for NSFW posts. I really grown to love the community and really don't want to leave.

For me I think it should stay 13+ so people who are under 18 (including me) had's more options for a sfw social media place to hangout and meet people but you do what you need to do for the future of anthrodex. Even if that's means you have to make under 18 people leave until they turned 18 to join again

Honestly, to limit the amount of relationship drama, from younger groups, I'd recommend making it 16+, also maybe add a lil disclaimer before signing up about the limit of not using this platform for "dating".

Where platforms like Facebook (incl IG) and Twitter completely fail in moderation especially in the part about age, I feel Anthrodex really is the place to be for those who want to interact in a safer, moderated, drama-free and politics-free space.

Where more minors are influxing into the fandom, a space is so needed for them to start their journey in the community on a right note. 13+ is quite the just right bar for Anthrodex, I believe.

We should not limit spaces like this anymore - we are no longer in the 20th century. People including minors can access a whole load of info today - and socially interact online - they just need a good place to start. Here is one of the places where I believe they can do that.

Newer younger furries who are 13 and older do indeed have a hard time finding as many platforms to congregate in the fandom, however I think there needs to be heavy restrictions of contact between those who are 18+ and those who are under age, there needs to be a wall. I'm sorry kiddos there really isn't much that people my age and those who are under 18 that we can talk about other than that you are interesting in buying services provided by us artists or other product makers who are that much older than you, grooming is a blight on the fandom and has been for many decades. A block between minors and adults should be placed connections only made via forums or pages where everyone in the public eye can see in case of any questionable behavior.

hmm mmaybe you could add filters for nsfw/adult content aswell as other filters like for gore, flashing images, bright/neon colours etc
i don't mind flashing animations, nsfw, and neon artstyles but i really hate gore so maybe there could be a filter rating system that you can turn on and off anytime! and when it's on, you can see posts rated as that and when it's off, they're completely hidden and private as only seen to those who have it on. and maybe there could also be an option to hide things under warnings and spoiler tags too! hope you like them ideas :3
